Cultural Studies

Culture is all around us. Everything we do, everything we think and make is culture. We produce it, consume it, perform it. Even if we are not always aware of it, culture is all we are. In the course of this Cultural Studies class, we studied the vast and vaguely defined concept we call culture in order to understand how it works and evolves - in other words: to help understand why we do the things we do. 

 

Through a number of essays by different theorists, we were introduced to some general concepts and approaches of Cultural Studies that we were subsequently able to apply to several everyday cultural performances. This website will give you an overview of our work.
